Daily flossing is an excellent and proven method for complementing your brushing routine and helping to prevent cavities, periodontal disease, and other dental problems later in life.
How to Floss:
Step 1: Wrap your floss around the base of your tooth and delicately under the gumline in a curved shape like a "C", and proceed to rub the tooth from bottom to top a few times.
Step 2: Be sure to floss both sides of every tooth, including the backs of your last molars. Ensure using a new section of the floss as it begins wears and picks up particles. Clean floss is important!
Step 3: Brush your teeth after you floss to ensure a complete clean, removing any left over bacteria.
It's important to never snap the floss because this can cut your gums, rather ensure that you delicately scrape every side of each tooth with the floss. For the first few days, if you're new to flossing, your gums might be extra tender or possibly bleed - but not to worry as this should stop happening after a few days!
